Fairy Tail Chapter 332: Atlas Flame and Natsu

Comments:
Good chapter this week, I definitely enjoyed it.

This chapter was sort of an important one regarding the battle that is currently going on against the dragons. Last time I speculated a little bit what was the plan that Natsu got from Lucy and now I feel a bit stupid that I didn't realize that he's going to go and eat Atlas Flame. I believe that I did think about it but I thought that it would be too obvious for Natsu to do it.

Any ways I really did like the turn of events how Natsu started eating the flames of Atlas Flame and how Atlas Flame got reminded of Igneel the king of fire dragons. It feels pretty logical that Atlas Flame switched sides since Igneel was/is his friend and Natsu is his friends 'son'. I believe though that Future Rogue will at least try to control Atlas Flame with his dragon control magic, of which he was bragging about before.

I like it how the chapters title was "Fire Bird", pointing to Natsu riding Atlas Flame as if he'd be a bird on fire.

Recap of Fairy Tail Chapter 332: Fire Bird

-Mages are fighting against the fire dragon, but their magic is ineffective against him. He says that his hell flame burns down any magic.

-Then comes Natsu and starts eating the fire/flame dragon.

-They decide that Laxus should go help Wendy and that he does.

-Atlas Flame tries to shake Natsu off of him, but without success. Atlas flame has sort of a flashback how Natsu on his back reminds him of Igneel, the king of fire dragons.

-The sight of seeing Igneel on back of Atlas Flame looks great.

-Atlas Flame then asks Natsu what is his relationship with Igneel, Natsu answers that Igneel is his dad.

-Meanwhile Future Rogue is watching the destruction before him, he's determined that with this power he can definitely kill Acnologia and rule the world.

-Then Natsu comes flying towards Future Rogue on top of Atlas Flame - it seems Atlas Flame has switched sides.

Watch Yusuke Murata Drawing One-Punch Man

Actually it's been a while since I actually found about Yusuke Muratas livestream where he streams pretty much everyday him drawing Onepunch man. You can also watch records of previous sessions, if he happens to be offline.

It's definitely fascinating to see an amazing artist at work and I was actually very surprised how quickly he actually manages to pull all the art together. I also believe that it's possible that he's getting some compensation for streaming, so it's definitely worth checking out.

City of Dead Sorcerer Review

City of Dead Sorcerer starts with a preset where people live in a futuristic world where several years ago before the events of the actual series people discovered magic through science and soon they invented ways to harness this power in daily use through "dispensers". Soon however the usage of magic was restricted through the "magic usage restriction law" and now the usage of middle level or above magic spells are regulated by the government.

We are then introduced to the main characters of this series: Crimson Robe, who goes around killing bad guys and Detective Kim, who is determined to hunt down this Crimson Robe, who seems to have his own sense of justice.

Art: Art of City of Dead Sorcerer is pretty much in line with most of the other webtoons that I've read, with the exception of that the author seems to slack off with the art of the series a bit more often than the others. There is a lot of scenes where there's a lot of usage of simple scenes, but it didn't bother me too much, it just tuned down the aliveness of the series. I also realized that going through the series the quality of art decreses some. I really didn't notice this as I plowed through the 50 chapters released so far, but as I went back to the first chapters for the making of this review it was pretty evident then. Naturally I have to compare City of Dead Sorcerer's art to the other webtoons and I have to say that in general this series have some clear and some of the time pretty good looking scenes, but the laziness seems to come through it. This especially shows as the general lack of backgrounds/sceneries, except for cubic city views. The rating for the art comes down to 3.5/5

Characters: I found myself liking some of the characters of this series pretty much. There are basically two main characters, who I already introduced in the synopsis at the beginning of the review: Crimson Robe and Detective Kim, who are in the beginning put in a "cat and mouse" type of setup, where Detective Kim is obsessed with capturing Crimson Robe. Crimson Robe is only a decent character, he doesn't excel at anything and as a character he really wouldn't work alone in this type of series.
Then there's Detective Kim, who I soon ended up liking the most. He's in a way very cheesy version of a traditional detective, who likes to do all the things in this own way and is somewhat praised as a police. If the author has really succeeded in something, it's Detective Kim with good banter abilities and likeable attitude.
As for the villains and side characters, I have to say that there's really no remarkable ones and in the end I really can't even remember most of them. 3/5

Story: In a way I have to say that City of Dead Sorcerer does bring something unique to the table. Some of the presets that the series is showing to the readers are pretty, if not very used, especially the whole "cat and mouse" thriller aspect, but the author has still managed to pull together a set of cliches bringing out a mix of uniqueness. Story of City of Dead Sorcerer basically consists of sci-fi, magic, thriller, cat and mouse -theme and a main story moving on the background. Usually you see some of these together, but personally this is the first time I've seen those elements together, so this is what makes the series unique.
The story however is in my opinion lacking something. When I first started reading it I was pulled in pretty much instantly, but the story went too quickly too dull. The initial spark didn't last for long and the author didn't seem to keep up with making things interesting enough. Towards the later part of chapters that has been released (50 at the time of writing) the story turns a bit more cheesy, but manages to be interesting enough to read until there are no more chapters. For the rating of the story I have to say that even though it wasn't anything special, it still was a decent read and maybe even recommended to someone who absolutely has nothing to read at the moment. Story 3/5

Toriko Chapter 234: Ultimate Routine On The Way

Comments:
Chapter this week felt really short and there really was nothing much that happened.

I found Torikos will to protect Komatsu a bit too big of a cliche and in a way it reminded me of Fairy Tails trademark of power of friendship which pretty much makes me shiver when I see it nowadays. In my opinion Torikos and Komatsus relationship has been reinforced so much in the past that I think that it doesn't need any more reinforcing without coming off too tryhard, so to say. I also find it pretty weird that Toriko was completely beat before Komatsu arrived and now it seems he has some secret techniques and Starjun can't really do anything even though he had the upper hand just moments before.

Sure I liked the secrecy that was present in this chapter, ie. it seemed to me that the unknown attack that burned Starjuns hair could have come from Torikos eyes, but that still remains unknown. The ending of the chapter left me pretty much waiting for the next weeks as this week was in the end just a build up chapter for Toriko showing his new stuff to us.

Recap of Toriko Chapter 234: Beyond Limits!

-Toriko is back up to protect Komatsu.

-Starjun says that even he doesn't know what his limit is.

-Toriko then looks at Starjun and attacks him with unknown attack, which Starjun just manages to dodge, burning his hair instead.

-Starjun once again has a vision of him dying, so he protects himself to avoid that.

-We see a one page long flashback, in which Ai speaks and apparently teaches Toriko the supreme "Routine", technique.

-The chapter ends with Toriko beginning to use "Ultimate routine", the ultimate secret technique.

Naruto Chapter 631: We Are Close To Something Great

Comments:
Needless to say I really liked this weeks chapter: there was as much progression as one could expect and we didn't have to watch Obito angst this time.

Minatos entrance was indeed well designed and portrayed his skills very well. During this war it's been very clear that Naruto has definitely matured as a person so that people should acknowledge him suitable as hokage.

I really think that this weeks chapter definitely excelled in relaying some subtle messages to the readers. First was of course previously mentioned changed personality of Naruto: when Sasuke arrived to the scene and announced that he is going to become the next hokage I honestly imagined and waited for Naruto to react on it, but rather than being reactive, Kishimoto made Naruto proactive making him maintain his credibility in this situation. People who have followed Naruto from beginning surely know what I mean with Naruto being reactive: you only have to read the first chapters to see how he reacts to Sasukes provocation, but this time it's different.

It was truly a great move from Kishimoto.

Then we've got of course the Hokages and Sasuke who have arrived to the scene. I absolutely loved the teamwork they had together, like how they moved in sync with Minatos teleport abilities and sealed the Juubi inside the "curtains" almost instantly. I think this is a true start to the ultimate battle, or at least it should be.

Recap of Naruto Chapter 631: Team 7

-Sakura is wondering who is the man who just arrived before them. Minato introduces himself as Minato Namikaze.

-After some banter between Naruto, Sakura and Minato all the other Hokages arrive to the scene.

-Madara is excited, the battle between him and the hokages is about to begin. Minato also says that Sasuke is also on his way.

-The hokages start sealing Juubi with a barrier: Shisekiyoujin (literally: formation of the 4 red suns), Hashirama also adds Senpou Myoujinmon bringing down huge gates for Juubi.

-Sasuke finally arrives saying that he decided to protect the village and that he's going to become the next Hokage.

-Chapter ends with team 7, consisting of Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke, reborn.
